New Urbanism Promotes Green, Walkable Communities

Listen to Kevin Klinkenberg, Principal of 180° Urban Design, talk about one of the most common desires for neighborhoods which is to create or revitalize walkable communities. As cities are becoming more proactive to build walkable communities, they are turning to a new zoning tool known as form-based codes, a method of regulating development to achieve a specific urban form. He goes on to discuss 180°’s projects throughout the country to show cities how to use form-based codes. Two cities in particular include downtown Colorado Springs, CO and Cheyenne, WY.
